The Verdi Requiem in Gloucester Cathedral
It has been said that "a goal is a dream with a date on it". Our dream is to sing the Verdi Requiem in Gloucester Cathedral and the date is Saturday 8th May 2010. The dream has been to bring together our conductor, Ian Fox's, three choirs (in Tewkesbury, Newent and Ross-on-Wye) to sing a major work, a work to which none of our choirs alone could do full justice. We have four first class soloists in Gweneth-Ann Jeffers (Soprano), Jeanette Ager (Mezzo), James Oxley (Tenor) and Paul Reeves (Bass) together with a combined choir of more than two hundred singers and a full orchestra, the Regency Sinfonia. And to make the dream complete, where better to make music than in one of the finest of England's cathedral churches, here in Gloucester. Why not make a note in your diary now - Saturday 8th May 2010 - for the Verdi Requiem in Gloucester Cathedral.
